Oktay names squad for Vihiga clash as Gor aim to bag 18th KPL crown
Gor Mahia head coach Hassan Oktay has named an 18-man squad which he hopes will hand the cruising champions an 18th Kenyan Premier League title when they battle relegation threatened Vihiga United this afternoon from 4.15pm at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Centre-back Joash Onyango is the only change from the squad that clobbered AFC Leopards 3-1 on Sunday in a Mashemeji derby with Charles Momnayi taking his place in a back-four which also has Philemon Otieno, Geoffrey Ochieng, and skipper Haron Shakava, while livewire Nicholas Kipkirui and Jacques Tuyisenge will lead the hunt for the crucial goals.
K’Ogalo need a win to bag the title as victory will haul their points tally to 72, effectively locking second- placed Bandari who battle Mathare United from 3pm at Kasarani Stadium out of the title race, even if they beat the ‘Slum Boys’.
