Nondescripts spank Kisii RFC in tense battle

It was a tense battle but Nondescripts RFC composed themselves to overcome fellow relegation-threatened side, Resolution Kisii RFC, winning 29-22 at the Jamhuri Showground on Saturday.

The win comes days after Kenya Rugby Union docked Nondies 10 points from the paltry 11 they had garnered after four rounds of matches.

Eric Ombachi opened the scores after showcasing his worth by running over five Kisii RFC defenders to score a beauty of a try.

The experienced fly-half Fielden Sinei didn’t hesitate to add the extras and this turned out to be the order as he scored eight more points to the advantage of Nondies.

Kisii, however, were not going down easily and the Nick Abok charges scored three quick tries to set a tie-break at halftime.

Soon after the break, Nondies picked from where they left and powerful centre Benjamin Marshall scored a superb try after being set up by fly-half Sinei.

Flanker Ernest Ngong scored for Nondies after charging down the helpless Kisii defence to score under the posts.

In the dying minutes of the game, Nondies forwards pulled out a maul that saw them bag in four points with a bonus after the final whistle.

Nondies are awaiting the outcome of their case after appealing KRU decision to deduct them 10 points.
