Ngala: Tuyisenge offer was too sweet but Kahatas future depends on Simba

Gor Mahia will release midfielder Francis Kahata if Tanzania’s Simba SC hands him a better offer, club deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala has said.

Ngala added that K’Ogalo and Kahata are in talks for a possible extension of the midfielder’s contract but his stay at the Kenyan giants will be dedicated by the weight of Simba’s offer.

“Kahata is a good player and Simba have been trailing him for some time. We are in talks with him but if Simba hands him a good contract, we cannot deny him that chance to pursue a new challenge,’’said Ngala.

The Tanzanian giants had shown interest in the midfielder from last year and their bid for a double-swoop did not materialise as they only poached Rwandese striker Meddie Kagere from K’Ogalo  but they are back again for their prized asset.

Kahata who will be part of Sebastian Migne’s squad for the African Cup of Nations finals in Egypt has been a cog in Gor Mahia’s midfield and his exit will be a big blow to the Kenyan giants.

In the meantime the club boss dispelled rumours that captain Haron Shakava is on the verge of a move to a Zambian club saying the two parties are in talks.

‘’We have not had any offer from any Zambian club interested in Shakava’s services. He still has six months contract with us and should any club show interest in him, we shall sit down and communicate the way forward,’’said Ngala.

Shakava, in a separate interview echoed Ngala’s sentiments noting that there was no deal yet with any other club, apart from Gor where his engagement runs out in eight months.

Ngala said it is the club’s policy not to retain a player who wants to face a new challenge, citing Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge whom he said requested to leave the club and will now join Petro Atletico of Angola.

Tuyisenge was Gor Mahia’s lead striker and Ngala says Atletico’s offer was too sweet to resist.

“We looked at Petro Atletico’s offer and agreed with the terms as a club. We wish Tuyisenge well in his new role at Atletico. He has played his part at Gor Mahia and we are grateful,” added Ngala.
