My boys did well despite Tusker defeat- Muyoti

Nzoia Sugar head coach Nicholas Muyoti has applauded his charges for their “fighting spirit” despite losing 1-0 to Tusker in weekend’s league match at  Sudi Stadium.

Muyoti attributed the defeat to hard luck maintaining that his charges gave a good account of themselves.

“Yes…my boys played well, created chances but only failed to convert the opportunities into goals. Since I took over the team has really improved. We won last weekend against Thika and drew in the mid-week encounter at Camp Toyoyo against Nakumatt, we are focusing on our last match of the season against AFC Leopards next weekend but the most important thing is that we are safe  from the relegation zone,”said  Muyoti .

Magnanimous in victory, Tusker head coach Robert Matano said:”Nzoia has really improved. They are not the same team we played in the first leg; the game was hard but my boys kept pressing hard and by luck we got the three points but I must congratulate Nzoia for equally showing a superb display.”

Nzoia re placed 13th  on the league table with 38 points, while Tusker are fourth placed with 53 points ahead of the season ender where the sugar millers will confront a free-falling  AFC  Leopards this weekend at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
