Morans off to Kigali for Afrobasket qualifiers

The national men basketball team Morans left for Kigali, Rwanda Sunday afternoon to participate in the FIBA Afrobasket qualifiers.

The Morans who have been buoyed by the foreign legion play Senegal in the opening fixture on Wednesday November 25 before facing Angola a day later and Mozambique on Friday.

The qualifiers will bring together 12 teams while four others will compete in Alexandria, Egypt with the events staged under Covid-19 social bubbles.

After overcoming South Sudan in the finals of the pre-qualification games last year at the Nyayo Stadium Gymnasium, Kenya will have to be at their fluent best to make the cut to the finals.

Only the top three teams from the qualification journey will qualify for the Afrobasket Championship that will be held in Kigali, Rwanda next year.
