Matasi recovering well after freak accident

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is recovering well at the Kakamega District hospital after he was involved in a grisly road accident on his way from Kakamega to Nairobi.

Matasi said he underwent several tests on Tuesday night including a CT scan that showed he suffered minor injuries and is expected to recover in a few weeks’ time.

“I want to thank God for saving our lives in that accident.  they did x-rays and city scans last night and there is no major concern for me. I expect to be fine in the next few weeks,” Matasi said.

Matasi, who was in the company of his wife and child, said the wife broke her leg and the doctors are expecting to put a plan because of the seriousness of the injury.

“Her injury is more serious because she broke her leg that needs a plate to be put in for the leg to recover well,” Matasi added.

For the son who was also their company broke his arm twice and underwent surgery last evening at the general hospital.

“My son broke his hand twice and was reconnected before developing complications with his shoulder which was managed by the doctors,” he concluded

Football Kenyan Federation (FKF) is yet to reach out to the Kenyan international because his phone was off.
