Liverpool keen to offload Balotelli

Mario Balotelli’s future remains shrouded in uncertainty with the AC Milan striker’s parent club Liverpool believed to be keen on selling him this summer.

Last August, the Italian returned to the San Siro on a season-long loan deal but despite an upturn in performances recently, is still struggling to convince the Rossoneri that he is worth bringing back on a permanent deal.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Merseyside are actively seeking suitors for ‘Super Mario’ this summer as they have no intention of keeping him at Anfield next season.

Balotelli’s €5.6 million per year wages are a major reason why the Reds are so desperate to find a buyer for Balotelli, which are few and far between at present.

Clubs have been put off by his meagre scoring record, with the striker hitting the back of the net just once in Serie A this season, as well as his troublesome reputation.

However, if Liverpool fail to find a buyer, there are suggestions that he could even be offered a severance package this summer as they look to part ways with one of their highest earning players.
