Trucha who has since penned a two-year deal to coach the 12-time Premier League champions will be assisted by Anthony Kimani who held fort last year when then head coach Casa Mbungo abruptly resigned.
According to chairman Dan Shikanda, the Czech Republican and the entire bench have their work cut out -with lifting the league title a major goal after going on a signing spree ahead of the new season.
“We have officially unveiled coach Trucha this morning after he joined us on a two-year contract. He already has the understanding of our targets and the main one is to ensure we win the league trophy in the new season starting Nov 20.
Leopards have already roped in around eight new players with the midfield poised to be intensely competitive come the new season.
“They will have to compete for a position and this will make the midfield stronger which is a secret of a solid squad as opposed to only focusing of signing defensively.
I am aware the transfer window deadline is tonight and so the office is working round the clock to see whether we can still strengthen and I can assure you we expect a central defender and maybe a striker before the end of the day,” added Shikanda.
Ingwe have been active in the transfer market in the last two weeks signing high-profile players ahead of the new season as they chase for a first league title in 22 years.
Among the notable inclusions are midfielder Fabrice Mugheni from Congo, Burundian Bienvenue Shaka from Etoile Sportif Du Sahel of Tunisia, Harrison Mwendwa, and goalkeeper John Oyemba – all from Kariobangi Sharks – and Washington Munene from Wazito FC, Duncan Otieno and winger Peter Thiong’o.
