Leopards shopping basket far from full even with Ndayishimiye capture

AFC Leopards are still active in the transfer market and will bid to sign more talents even after acquiring the signature of immediate former Rayon Sports custodian Eric Bakame Ndayishimiye.

Ndayishimiye, 30, is expected to help tighten Leopards leaky goal according to secretary general Oscar Igaida.

Leopards who are aiming to win their first league title in two decades has also been courting  the 28-year-old  Zimbabwean striker Michelle Katsavairo and Citizen Digital understands the two parties are close to signing a deal.

Michelle has been training with the big cats as his representatives try to hammer out a deal with the Leopards hierarchy.

 Michelle has turned out for amongst others, South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, and is among the top transfer targets of new coach Nikola Kavazovic.

“We are not yet done with this signing business and our aim is to bolster the team ready for the season to challenge for the title.

“We shall later on unveil all of them together when we are through with the process,”said Igaida.

Ndayishimiye who signed a two-year contract at the den is poised to tussle for the Number One role with Ezekiel Owade

The former Rwanda international made a name  when he won the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2009 with Atraco after beating Sudanese giants Al- Merreikh in Khartoum in the final.

“He is determined to help the team to win silverware this season,”Igaida said of the new signing.

So far Leopards has roped in left-back Isaac Kipyegon from Zoo Kericho and central defender Joshua Mawira.

Leopards are also on the verge of signing the 28-year-old Zimbabwean striker Michelle Katsavairo who has formerly featured for South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Defenders Robinson Kamura, Salim Abdalla and midfielder Whyvonnbe Isouza — have all renewed their contracts with the club handing the team some boost ahead of the new season.

Ingwe face FKF- Shield winners Kariobangi Sharks in their opening league fixture on December 8.
