Leopards court Homeboyz man Thiongo, Wazitos Masika

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards hope to bolster their playing unit by roping in some three players.

The primary targets are Kakamega Homeboyz man Peter Thiong’o, Wazito’s Musa Masika and Derrick Otanga.

Thiong’o, whose contract Citizen Digital understands has ended at Homeboyz, tops coach Anthony Kimani’s wish list.

In a separate interview, Kakamega Homeboyz tactician Nicholas Muyoti confirmed Thiong’o’s situation.

“Yes, his (Thiong’o) contract is running out but I can’t comment on anything because that remains a matter to be handled by the office,” Muyoti said.

Thiong’o has also reportedly attracted the interest of Wazito and KPL champions Gor Mahia.

Ingwe are also monitoring the 19-year old Masika as well as Otanga, who previously turned out for now defunct Sony Sugar FC.

Otanga joined Wazito from Sony but was among the 12 players who were recently released by the former.

The forward made his name during the 2018/19 campaign after he scored 13 goals for the defunct Sony Sugar.

Ingwe are yet to sign any player so far and in a previous interview, Chairman Dan Shikanda confirmed they will only acquire three to five experienced players to bolster their relatively young squad.

So far Austin Odhiambo is the only player who has been linked with a move away from the big cats.

Due to financial constraints mid last season, Ingwe lost key players in Ismail Diarra, Vincent Habamahoro, Tresor Ndikumana, and captain Soter Kayumba.
