KPA thrash Kisumu Ladybucks in KBF league

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) crushed home team Kisumu Ladybucks 86-21 in their third match of the season at Manyatta Primary Arabs School.

The Dockers dominated all  quarters, winning the first 34-11 before registering 26-04 in the second as they raced to a 60-15 halftime lead.

After the break, KPA picked up from where they left, notching 17-02 and 09-04 wins in the third and final quarters.

“We couldn’t learn much from the game. It was an expected win and we only have to keep working on our strength and our weakness,” KPA head coach Antony Ojukwu said.

On his side Ladybucks head coach Michael Dave said they never expected to win.

“We didn’t play as we planned as we are still building the team and I believe we shall improve as time goes on. We even didn’t have a consistent place to train especially after the Kisumu Sports Ground was closed for renovations,” he said.

KPA head coach Sammy Kiki congratulated his players for the hard fought win.

“Lakeside being stubborn on their home court wasn’t easy for us by I thank my players for making us proud. Cutting off their shots really helped us despite starting badly, ” he said.

On his side Lakeside assistant head coach Lusaga Brian blamed their former player John Wijas for ‘killing’ them.

“We played well compared to our previous matches. We were killed ny our own former player who understands our team well.

“We are also working on team chemistry after loosing several players and I believe our next matches we shall get positive results,” Lusaga said.

KPA have won their three matches played so far against EMYBA, KCA University and now Lakeside.
On their side, Lakeside have lost all their four opening matches against EMYBA, Thunder, Eldonets and KPA.
