Kenya Pipeline sip Ethiopias National Alcohol in Tunisia

Kenya Pipeline maintained their perfect start at the ongoing women’s volleyball African Club Championship after yet another emphatic straight set win Thursday in Tunisia.

The six-time champions blew away Ethiopia’s National Alcohol in sets of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-7 at the Aissa Ben Nasr Arena in the coastal town of Kelibia to top Pool ‘B’ on six points.

The Oilers Wednesday opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast. They face AS Douanes of Burkina Faso in their penultimate preliminary matches before taking on 2017 champions Carthage of Tunisia.

Meanwhile, Kenya Prisons head coach David Lungáho is optimistic his charges will defeat Tunisia champions Sfax in their second Pool ‘A’ fixture scheduled for Friday.

The five-time champions defeated ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast in straight sets yesterday as they laid down the marker in Tunisia.

“Despite the easy win in our first game some areas need improvement ahead of Friday’s encounter against Sfax. They’re the champions in their country and we must up our game to overcome them,” said Lungáho, who is holding fort while Josp Barasa is away with the national women’s team currently training under a bio-secure bubble ahead of the Olympic Games.
