Kenya rugby sevens team is expected to arrive in South Africa on 6th May, for the Rugby Africa Sevens solidarity camp in Stellenbosch to take place between 8th and 9th May for the first tournament and the second one on 14th and 15th May.

Shujaa are currently in training camp at Kasarani where new players have been called to the camp with Samuel Oliech missing after sustaining an injury in the Dubai invitational tournament.

Kenya’s top try scorer in HSBC Series Collins Injera joins camp together with Kabras Sugar skipper Daniel Sikuta, after missing the last two outings while Menengai Oilers fly half Mark Kwemoi returns after missing Dubai Sevens alongside KCB fullback Levi Amunga.

While in South Africa, Simiyu charges will face the hosts, Uganda and Zimbabwe at Stellenbosch in a four-team Solidarity Camp hosted by Rugby Africa between May 6 and 16.

The Solidarity Camp will offer the four teams a platform to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.

Playing against already qualified Shujaa and the Springboks, Uganda Cranes and the Zimbabwe Cheetahs will be looking forward to earning crucial exposure and experience ahead of their final Olympics qualifier, the repechage tournament, that will award the winner a final slot in the Olympics games
