Injera returns to Shujaa, to feature at Hamilton Sevens

Kenya’s top try scorer in the HSBC Series Collins Injera has returned to the Shujaa team ahead of the third and fourth rounds of the series 2019/2020 in Hamilton, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia.

Injera missed the opening rounds in Dubai and Cape Town and is one of three squad changes made by the KRU Technical Director Paul Feeney following Wednesday’s announcement.

KCB speedster Geoffrey Okwach is expected to make his debut after finishing joint top scorer in the Safari Sevens last year.

He was also in the Kenya U-20 squad that qualified for the World Junior Trophy after beating Namibia 21-18 at the KCB ground Nairobi and is joined by another returnee Herman Humwa.

Jacob Ojee and Oscar Dennis who were part of Shujaa’s squad in Dubai and Cape Town are out with Injuries while Kabras Sugar Daniel Sikuta was rested.

The team had a three day training camp in Moi showground, Nakuru the home of Kenya Cup side Menengai Oilers and are expected to depart from JKIA to New Zealand on Saturday.

In Hamilton they will face Dubai winner’s South Africa, England and invitational side Japan in Pool A to take place on the 25 and 26 January.
