Ingwe Chair Resigns, Alex Magelo, Francis Atwoli Form New Committee

AFC Leopards chairperson Allan Kasavuli has resigned, leaving the team under a caretaker committee.

The announcement was made when Kasavuli visited the team at their training ground at KTTC in Gigiri on Wednesday.

Former club chair and current Nakuru County Assembly speaker Alex Ole Magelo takes over as an interim club patron, with Amin Walji taking over as acting chair.

Martin Andati will be the Interim Secretary General.

INTERIM EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

Interim Executive Committee members include Charles Bukeko, also known as Papa Shirandula, Webuye MP Alfred Sambu, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, and Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli.

During the meeting, Magelo gave Sh100,000  to pay players arrears while Walji gave Sh100,000  to help reduce the coaches’ arrears.

AFC Leopards has been faced with financial difficulties for several months now after their shirt sponsor Mumias Sugar pulled out.

The financial troubles, which began last year, made players boycott training leading them to slump in ranking.

Ingwe are currently placed fifth in Kenya Premier League after 13 matches, despite the ongoing financial woes.
