Indiza dazzles at Safari Golf Tour
Long hitting Dismas Indiza carded a six-under par 65 to shoot to a four shot lead on day two of the eighth leg of the 2020-21 Safari Tour Series at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club.
Indiza is currently on top of the leader board after managing three straight pars in the first three holes before sinking a birdie.
He continued with the same trend in the seventh, eight and nighth holes with three more birdies .
Zimbabwean Robson Chinhoi who is second on the leader board cut four under par 67.
Dayne Moore from Zambia is third while Anthony Juma is forth.
Debutant Dayne Moore continued his fine run of form after a round of one under par 70. The Zambian was dominant on par fives producing a superb display that saw him gain six shots on the four par fives and says he is happy with the kind of competition at Muthaiga.
“For me I’m kinder trying to get away from thinking of the score so much. I’m trying to focus more on my process and stuff like that. I have done so in the mini tour that we have been playing in South Africa and in a few past events and it has turned out pretty well. I’m happy because I worry much about my game and not the score,” said Moore.
Anthony Juma, Chege John Wangai and Mohit Mediratta are joint forth on one under par 141. Mungai was happy with how the Muthaiga course played out.
“I was batting well today. The greens are rolling well, therefore if you have a good stroke you are able to hold in a few parts. But besides that I was also able to stay on regulation a lot , out of the 18 holes I have hit 15 from regulation which has made me to save the pars that I needed to. The bottom line is I played well and the course is playing well,” said Mungai.
Some of the big names that did not make the cut are Rizwan Charania Jacob Okello and Ugandan Phillip Kasozi.
Going into Day Three, twenty one golfers including amateur Jay Sandhu will be battling for the top prize of 150, 000 shillings.
