Gor to face Napsa Stars in CAF Confed Cup playoffs

Gor Mahia FC will face Zambian side Napsa Stars in the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs following Friday’s draw conducted at Confederation of African Football (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The Kenyan champions will host the first leg in Nairobi on February 14 before travelling for the return leg a week later with the aggregate winner set to advance to the group stage of the competition.

Gor dropped into the continent’s second-tier clubs competition after they were dumped out of the first round of the CAF Champions League courtesy of an 8-1 on aggregate loss to Algerian side CR Belouizdad.

After back to back appearances in the group stages in 2018 and 2019, Gor exited at the playoff stage last year after losing 3-2 to DC Motema Pembe of Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Kenyans will be keen to remedy that record reached the playoff on away goals rule after a 1-1 aggregate score against UD Songo of Mozambique.
