Gor deny hes quit but where is Pollack?

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has dismissed reports that head coach Steven Po’llack has quit the Kenyan champions.

Pollack who joined K’Ogalo in August last year, was granted a ten-day leave last month to enable him to attend to family matters but was yet to return by the deadline last week, and the chairman says he is yet to receive any official communication from the Finnish tactician.

“Being the chairman of this club I have not received any communication from the coach that he won’t be returning after his holiday.

“He asked for more days to be with his family after his quarantine which we granted him,”he said.

However Pollack’s long absence has raised eyebrows within the KÓgalo fraternity and Rachier’s statement is telling.

Hear him speak: “‘As a club we won’t stand in his way if he decides to leave, but so far he has not told us any information about him not returning.”

Former Rayon Sports coach Brazilian Roberto Oliveira has been linked with the Kenyan Premier League side but Rachier was reluctant to comment on the matter.

“So far we still have Pollack as our coach, and we are not holding talks with anyone, but if he decides to step down we will definitely get another coach from anywhere in the world,” added the club chairman.

Citizen Digital has however learnt that Pollack wants commitment from Gor management that his dues will be paid promptly, at the end of every month, as well as settling of his pending dues before he boards the plane to Nairobi, demands which the club executive are yet to meet while no commitment has come forth.

Sources close  to the club’s management have intimated to Citizen that the soft-spoken coach, despite his gentlemanly demeanor feel let down by the management who despite the current financial windfall are dragging their feet in settling the technical bench dues.

KÓgalo recently inked a lucrative Sh60 million-a-year shirt deal with a gaming firm while the coming on board of another gaming firm as League title sponsors and broadcast partners in StarTimes should open the financial taps, Gor are showing no goodwill to him, the source added.

Gor Mahia have been training for close to three weeks now as they prepare to represent the country in the CAF Champions League beginning November.
