Gor, Batambuze part ways

Gor Mahia have parted ways with highly rated Ugandan left-back Shafik Batambuze.

Batambuze joined the club in October 2018 on a two-year deal but has of late struggled with a recurring knee-injury.

Btambuze picked the injury last term while featuring in the CAF assignments against Aigle Noir of Burundi in November 2019.

His exit leaves Geoffrey Ochieng and Michael Apudo as the other viable left backs in the team.

Gor have undergone major squad overhaul with highly rated midfielder Lawrence Juma joining Sofapaka, while vice-captain Joash Onyango joined Tanzanian side Simba.

Others who’ve decamped the club are; Wellington Ochieng (Tusker FC), Kennedy Otieno (Western Stima), Boniface Omondi (Wazito), Elvis Ronack (Nzoia Sugar), amongst others.
