Former Harambee Stars, Gor player Hamisi dies

Former Harambee Stars player Hamisi Shamba has passed on at a Kisumu hospital after developing chronic liver and kidney complications, his son Mohamed has confirmed.

The former Gor Mahia FC star had been in a coma since Sunday and attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning.

The late Hamisi Shamba was an employee of the Kisumu West constituency where he was serving as a constituency manager.

Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch has paid tribute to Hamisi, saying he was a ‘performer and a humble servant’.

Olago says the body will be transferred to the home in Mkendwa sub-location in Kisumu West sub-county and he will be buried tomorrow at Mkendwa cemetery as per Islam protocols.

Hamisi is survived by a wife and three children.
