City Stars relishing life at the top

Nairobi City Stars chief executive officer Patrick Korir says their main priority in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League is to maintain consistency, and safeguard their place in the top division.

City earned promotion back to the top-tier after a superb campaign in the National Super League and they have made their case known after they edged Nzoia 2-0 in their opening match on Sunday.

“Our target is to make City Stars a stable Premier League outfit, one that will develop young players to a national level with the aim of transferring some players to clubs abroad,” Korir told Citizen Digital.

“We will stay focused and humble. It’s great to be back as it has been a long time out without football. We are happy to be back in the Premier League after four years,” he added.

“We prepared well against Nzoia and we want to take it game by game.”

Meanwhile head coach Sanjin Alagic has praised the changes the club underwent before the start of the new season that has brought stability and good results.

“The club restructured and became very stable and organized and we are happy to continue with what we started then into the new seasons,” the Bosnian said.

“We want fans to be aware of this and we are asking them for their support as we journey in the Premier League,” he added.

City Stars play KCB in their next assignment and the Bosnian is upbeat his boys will deliver results.
