Bandari keen to find Shikalo replacement

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) club Bandari FC are on the hunt for a goalkeeper to replace Farouk Shikalo following his move to Tanzania’s Yanga SC.

The coastal-based club will look to add ‘one or two’ more players as they continue to beef up for the new season, according to coach Bernard Mwalala.

Mwalala says they are keen to sign a central defender to step in for Bernard Odhiambo who is yet to recover from injury.

The Dockers have already signed Danson Chetambe from Zoo, Cliff Kasuti from Sofapaka and Nairobi Stima’s Alex “Dunga” Lugaji.

Bandari will be fighting for the KPL title after finishing second last year and will also feature in the CAF Confederation Cup having won the FKF Shield.

Elsewhere newbies Wazito FC will miss the service of its captain Dennis Gicheru for four months after he sustained a knee injury in training and will undergo a surgery next week.

Gor Mahia FC captain Haron Shakava is said to be on the verge of sealing a move to Zambia Super League side Nkana FC where he will continue working together with his former captain Musa Mohammed once he complete the move while Sofapaka FC Umaru Kasumba is also in Zambia negotiating with Zesco United according to reports.
