Arsenal latest victims of goal-a-game Mane

Senegal sharpshooter Sadio Mane continued his goal-a-game streak in the English Premier League at the weekend with the second as Liverpool thrashed Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield.

Mane scored in a season-opening 3-3 draw at Watford and struck the only goal of a home match against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Egyptian Mohamed Salah also scored in the demolition of the Gunners as Liverpool rose to second, two points behind Manchester United.

ENGLAND

JORDAN AYEW (Swansea City)

Ghana striker Ayew opened his account for the campaign as Swansea won 2-0 at Crystal Palace to claim their first win of the Premier League season. Ayew struck in the 48th minute, cantering onto Kyle Naughton’s pass and then benefiting from some good fortune as goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey’s attempted block bounced back against him, sending the ball trickling into the net.

SADIO MANE (Liverpool)

Mane scored his third goal in three league games this season as Liverpool crushed Arsenal 4-0 at Anfield. The Senegalese forward found the net in the 40th minute at Anfield, running onto Roberto Firmino’s pass down the left flank, cutting inside Rob Holding and drilling a firm shot into the bottom-right corner.

MOHAMED SALAH (Liverpool)

Egyptian forward Salah continued his fine start to life at Anfield with a goal and an assist. He netted Liverpool’s third goal in the 57th minute after beating Hector Bellerin to a bouncing ball inside the Liverpool half and running clear to score before crossing for Daniel Sturridge to head in the fourth goal 13 minutes from time.

SPAIN

ZOUHAIR FEDDAL (Real Betis)

Moroccan centre-back Feddal was the match winner as his towering header handed Real Betis a 2-1 win over Celta Vigo. Feddal met Andres Guardado’s corner flush 13 minutes from time to cap a perfect home debut after his close-season move from Alaves.

THOMAS PARTEY (Atletico Madrid)

Partey was handed a rare start in central midfield ahead of club captain Gabi and made the most of his opportunity with an assured performance topped off with a goal as Atletico thrashed Las Palmas 5-1. The Ghanaian opened his account for the season with a sweet strike from outside the box to round off the scoring two minutes from time.

ITALY

GODFRED DONSAH (Bologna)

Serie A newcomers Benevento welcomed Bologna, hoping to score a historic first top-flight win, but instead found themselves on the end of a 1-0 defeat thanks to midfielder Donsah’s 55th-minute goal. Even though Donsah is widely rumoured to be on his way out of the club, his contribution was crucial to Bologna.

GERMANY

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Borussia Dortmund)

The Gabon hot shot has now scored in each of his last eight games in all competitions dating back to last season after he flicked on Nuri Sahin’s cross for the opening goal in a 2-0 win at home to Hertha Berlin. Aubameyang now has two goals in as many 2017/2018 league games as he resumes his rivalry with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, who has scored three.

FRANCE

MOUSSA KONATE (Amiens)

The Senegalese striker, a recent signing from Swiss side Sion, netted twice as Amiens won a Ligue 1 game for the first time in their history, winning 3-0 at home to Nice, for whom Ivory Coast star Jean-Michael Seri did not feature after an expected move to Barcelona fell through.

FRANCOIS KAMANO (Bordeaux)

The Guinean winger netted the opening goal as Bordeaux continued their unbeaten start to the season by defeating Troyes 2-1. It was a first goal of the season for the 21-year-old.

ISMAILA SARR (Rennes)

The teenage Senegalese forward scored his first goal for Rennes since a 17 million-euro move from Metz in the close season, but it was not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat at Toulouse that left his new club still winless this season.
