Woman stabbed to death by ex-husband in Migori

A 28-year-old woman died on Saturday in Awendo town, Migori County after she was stabbed by her former husband.

The deceased identified as Anita Moraa succumbed to injuries at Rapcom hospital where she had been hospitalised for two days after the attack by her ex-lover on November 19.

Area Assistant chief Beatrice Awuor Ochier said the woman was stabbed in the stomach by her former husband identified as Kachero while she was closing her salon in Awendo town.

The Assistant chief said the suspect, who has been spotted by locals walking freely, is yet to be arrested.

Awendo Sub-county Police Commander Mary Musyoka said the matter is being investigated.

The family of the deceased has called for urgent investigation and arrest of the murder suspect.
