On June 10, EACC Central Regional Manager Charles Rasungu said one of the cases involves a number of tenders allegedly influenced by the governor.

The EACC is also investigating 38 officers from Kirinyaga County Government who are expected to record statements.

A month later, Governor Waiguru spent over nine hours at the EACC offices being questioned over claims by the assembly that she siphoned Ksh.6million.

The sour relationship between the governor and majority of members of the county assembly came to the fore during the hearings by the senate devolution and intergovernmental committee.

The MCAs who appeared before the Moses Kajwang led committee continued to question Waiguru’s style of leadership.
