Governors Waiguru, Wambora to receive awards on Jamhuri Day

A number of Kenyans are set to be feted on Wednesday during the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

A notice in the Kenya Gazette said the individuals will be recognized because of their distinguished and outstanding services to the nation.

They include Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, ODM National Chairman and Minority Leader John Mbadi, Governors Martin Wambora (Embu), Josphat Nanok (Turkana), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga), Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Joyce Laboso (Bomet).

They will receive the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya.

Other notable personalities who will receive a presidential award (Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear CBS) on Jamhuri Day are:
