Uhuru fires ministers, turns them ambassadors

Seven Cabinet Ministers who have been fired from Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet will not be heading home after all.

The president may have removed them from the Cabinet but he has given them a softer landing by naming them as envoys. Only person who was not in the Cabinet named in the envoys list was Kiema Kilonzo.

In January, when he named a partial Cabinet, the president said he was naming people who would help him and William Ruto achieve what he termed as “The big four.”

“As I stated in my New Year’s address that in the following weeks I will be naming men and women who will join me in delivering our promises to Kenyans, today I wish to name a few whom I wish to join me in working together to fulfill our agenda to fellow Kenyans,” he said.

The fired 7 and their new portfolios;

Dan Kazungu – Tanzania
Jacob Kaimenyi – Permanent Representative to UNESCO in Paris
Phylis Kandie – Belgium and Luxembourg
Kiema Kilonzo – Uganda
Judy Wakhungu – France
Hassan Wario – Austria
Cleopha Mailu – Permanent Rep to UN in Geneva
Willy Bett – India
