Two Marsabit County officials among 4 charged with possession of firearms without certificates

Four men among them two Marsabit County officials have been arraigned in court and charged with being in possession of firearms without certificates.

The court heard that Galma Jara Galgalo, Musa Dalacha, Mohammed Galmagar and Ibrahim Abduba were on February 6 found with the firearms at Ele Borr area in Turbi sub-county, Marsabit County.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges pressed against them, including that of being in possession of ammunition without a certificate.

Galma Jara and Musa Dalacha were also charged with being in the country unlawfully. The two are said to be Ethiopians.

The prosecution is opposed to the release of the two Ethiopians on bail on grounds that they don’t have a fixed residence and are likely not to attend court proceedings.
