Two friends stab each other to death in Limuru

Two men reportedly stabbed each other to death in a bizarre incident on Sunday afternoon at Kamandura Village in Limuru, Kiambu County.

Neighbours say the two men, who are hawkers at Limuru Market, started fighting Saturday night in their shared single room rental house before their landlord intervened.

It is reported that they resumed their fight Sunday afternoon at a nearby shopping centre, as residents watched in shock.

The men then allegedly stabbed each other using daggers and died on the spot.

The reason behind the fight is still unknown. The bodies have been moved to Tigoni Sub-County Hospital Mortuary.

Meanwhile, police in Nairobi are looking for three suspected robbers who fled after police thwarted a robbery at an Mpesa shop in Kayole Estate, where one robber was shot dead.

The four reportedly tried to rob the businesswoman of an unknown amount of money at her Mpesa shop as she was closing at around at 9pm.

Confirming the incident, acting Kayole OCPD Benjamin Rotich said officers on patrol responded to sounds of gunshots fired by the robbers to disperse a crowd that had gathered and found the robbery in progress.

He added that one of the robbers shot at the policemen who responded by shooting back at them, killing one man on the spot.

“Residents saw the robbery taking place and gathered, the robbers shot in the air, alerting our officers on patrol who rushed to the scene where a shootout ensued. The suspect who was holding a gun was shot dead,” said Rotich.

Police recovered one Ceska pistol and ten rounds of ammunition in the process.
