Tourists in different parts of the country who wish to travel back home via Nairobi have until Monday mid-day to do so.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala said both domestic and international tourists have until March 29, 2021 after which flights will cease operating.

Those on transit into Kenya and are set to visit sites outside Nairobi have been given until Monday mid-day or risk being confined in the capital.

All passengers arriving in the country will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 certificate acquired 96 hours prior to arrival.

The hotel industry was also affected in the latest measures announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday aimed at taming the spread of COVID-19.

“Restaurants and eateries in Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Kiambu and Nakuru to provide takeaway services only from 27th March 2021. Eateries and restaurants in the other 42 counties shall continue as is, strictly adhering to Ministry of Health guidelines,” said the Ministry.
