Three cops linked to Ugandan escapee freed on Ksh.200K bond

Three police officers accused of helping a Ugandan escapee have been freed on Ksh. 200,000 bond each with a surety of the same amount.

Vacity Kemeres, Stephen Ochieng and Elias Mungaria were also given an alternative of Ksh. 50,000 bail.

They had been arraigned before Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu on Friday.

They are accused of aiding the Ugandan to escape from Kamukunji Police Station on May 13 but have denied the charges.

The Ugandan national identified as Martin Wasike was released from the police cell under unclear circumstances.

Wasike was in custody over charges of kidnapping a Kenyan officer with intent to murder.
