Speaking during the launch of Martha Karua's Peoples Liberation Party (PLP), the former DP claimed that Ruto's henchmen felt threatened after he warned them to refrain from removing Chief Justice Martha Koome from office.
During a tour in Meru County, Gachagua claimed that Ruto had purported a scheme to remove CJ Koome from office for declining to bow to political pressure. Ruto has, however, not addressed the matter publicly.
According to Gachagua, Ruto's aides hatched a scheme to arrest him for his defiance. Declining to bow to pressure, the former DP promised to continue fighting until Kenya reached the proverbial promised land.
"Recently, I was in Meru and warned them against doing certain things. They said they would arrest me and I told them I'd be at my home waiting. You're welcome, we can have tea and then you escort me to the police station," he noted.
"For those who are getting arrested, these jails are made for men. They are planning on arresting me. Nowadays the cells are made of stone and even have toilets."
Gachagua revealed to the audience that he was Ruto's kryptonite as he would launch his campaign in 2026.
"We have his antidote, the day we will start campaigning, we will dismantle him and expose him for his lies. We are reaching there, we give him this year. By 2026, no one will listen to his lies," said Gachagua.
The former DP joined political leaders such as Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa, Former UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka for the rebranding of Karua's NARC-Kenya party to PLP.
