Tension in Tigania as man on bizarre killing spree still at large

A man suspected to have ran over five people in Tigania, Meru and then proceeded to stab another to death is yet to be found.

Police sources revealed that Joshua Kireru had earlier been arrested and arraigned for injuring camels and his case was to be heard on November 3.

“Yesterday (Monday) he complained of being threatened by the camel owner.

“He got into his vehicle, a Probox, at around 5.30pm, went to the market and ran over people who were selling vegetables,” OCPD Peter Karanja said.

Four women and one man were reportedly injured in the incident.

The suspect then got out the vehicle, headed to Kamanoro where he is said to have stabbed a man to death.

“He went wild, brandishing a knife to everyone. We are still looking for him,” the police boss said.
