Slain businessman Jacob Juma’s family wants FBI to probe murder
Slain businessman Jacob Juma’s family now says that they want foreign investigators, FBI and UK’s Scotland Yard to investigate his murder.
Speaking to the media from their home in Karen, Juma’s Widow Miriam Wairimu also revealed that the family will engage the services of a private investigator to aid probe into the brutal murder of the outspoken businessman.
Miriam, who was in the company of CORD leader Raila Odinga, lamented over the bungling of the investigations by the Kenyan police.
She further requested Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery to avail to the family CCTV footage before and after the shooting incident on Ngong Road near Lenana School last week on Thursday night and mobile phone data of the late businessman.
The opulent businessman lay for the last time in his palatial Karen home in one of the final rituals before he is laid to rest.
This was a place dear to Jacob Juma and he aptly named it, Mungore –Olukuba palace, Mungore being his birth place and Olukaba the place according to the Bukusu tradition where elders discuss pertinent community matters.
After leaving their Karen Home, the cortège headed to Wilson Airport from where the body was flown to Kakamega airstrip.
It will then be transported by road to Kanduyi stadium in Bungoma for public viewing before finally ending up in his home in Mungore where more than 15 bulls have been lined up for slaughter for the funeral ceremony.
The burial committee anticipates a huge crowd of mourners and says more bulls may have to be slaughtered to ensure all are fed.
The committee has also dispelled rumors that a ritual involving the burial of the body with a torch will be conducted instead, they insist he will be buried according to the Christian tradition.
