Six dead, three injured in Kisii accidents

Six people perished in two different incidents in Kisii County while three others were admitted at the local Teaching and Referral Hospital with serious injuries.

Area County Police Commander, Ms Agnes Liyabi, said four people died at 6:00 am after a fatal accident involving a  motor vehicle, Probox model and a saloon car at Jogoo area along Kisii-Nyamira Road.

The Police Commander said one vehicle was overtaking when it lost control and collided with the other.

Speaking to the press, Liyabi said two died on the spot and two others on the way to hospitals Christamarian in Kisii and Tenwek in Bomet Counties respectively.

While appealing to motorists to be careful when driving, Liyabi noted that most accidents were due to carelessness.

According to Liyabi, the other two were electrocuted in Gucha Sub County at Ogembo Police Station area following an illegal electric connection.

Liyabi urged residents to follow the right procedure with the Kenya Power saying shortcuts were always very costly.

Three bodies were removed to KTRH and one at Christamarian waiting post-mortem.
