Siaya Governor Orengo's county executive appointees sworn into office

Seven County Chief Officers appointed by Siaya Governor James Orengo have been officially sworn into office following approval by the county assembly.
Among the new Chief Officers is Elizabeth
Adongo Atieno who has been appointed to take charge of the Agriculture, Food
Security, Livestock and Fisheries docket.
Adongo has previously held high-level government offices having served under three Cabinet Secretaries
including Professor Margaret Kobia in the Public Service docket, Anne Waiguru
(Devolution) and Sicily Kariuki (Water).
She has indicated that one of her key
priorities and immediate focus will be to ensure that the ongoing farmers
registration exercise in the County is successful.
Other Chief Officers sworn in today include Jactone
Ouma Odinga (Budgeting and Planning), Kevin Okoth Ajuul (Energy and Transport),
and Judith Oyugi (Water and Sanitation), Samwel Omondi Owino (Health), Michael Oliech Ombambo (Enterprise
and Industrial Development) and finally Dr. Nicholas Kut Ochogo (Youth, Gender
and Social Services).
Speaking shortly after the swearing ceremony
that was held at the county headquarters, Siaya Governor James Orengo congratulated
those who have been appointed and exuded confidence that they are going to deliver
to the people of Siaya given their levels of qualification and experience.
He took issue with those who had been
criticizing those appointments, terming them as skeptics who will never see or
appreciate anything good.
The governor has however stated that he is not
going to be distracted by the naysayers, reiterating that he is not disturbed
so long as he is doing the right thing.
