Sarah Wairimu Cohen leaves Langata Womens Prison for husbands autopsy

The Nairobi High Court has allowed Sarah Wairimu Cohen to be present at the postmortem of her late husband.

Following the directive, the accused who is currently remanded at Langata Women’s Prison, will be taken to Chiromo mortuary to witness exercise.

Justice Stella Mutuku made the ruling on Wednesday morning.

Her lawyer Philip Murgor maintains that Wairimu is the only one who can substantively identify the body.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta who is representing Cohen’s sister Gabrielle, noted that X-ray imaging has already been done and the results will be presented on Wednesday.

Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor is expected to lead the exercise after Murgor rejected his representative on Tuesday.

Cohen’s estranged wife Wairimu will take plea after her 10-day detention period lapses.

The body of Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen was found at his home on September 13 almost two months after he disappeared.

He was a tours and travel magnate who had lived in Kenya since 1987.
