Royal Media Services wins 15 prestigious awards at CA Kuza fete
Royal Media Services on Friday dominated the Kuza Awards ceremony winning 15 awards sponsored by Communications Authority.
During the 3rd annual Kuza Broadcasting Awards ceremony held in Nairobi, the company Chairman S.K. Macharia was feted with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I wish to appreciate the tremendous efforts efforts that have transformed the media industry in Kenya to what it is now,” CA Chairman Ngene Gituku said.
This year’s theme for the KUZA awards was ‘Reminiscing the Broadcasting Journey in Kenya (1924-2019).’ Voting ran from April 5 to May 5, 2019 with a survey conducted using a mobile SMS short code.
The country’s top media house was recognised for excellence in the industry with its leading brands Citizen TV, Inooro TV, Radio Citizen and Inooro FM lauded for regulatory compliance, responsive broadcasting and pursuit for socio-economic development.
This comes just days after Citizen TV was announced as Kenya’s most admired media brand according to a continental-wide survey.
On Friday, top Communication Authority officials said the KUZA Awards are a sure indication that Kenya is on the path to becoming a hub for information sharing within the next decade.
