Red Cross volunteer hacked to death in Lamu
A Red Cross Volunteer was on Monday night hacked to death in Mbwajumwale village, Lamu County.
Thirty-year-old Amina Mzee Bakari was reportedly accosted by unknown assailants armed with machetes at around 10p.m while closing up an establishment donated to the youth in the area by Red Cross in order to keep them away from crime.
According to residents who spoke to Citizen Digital, the assailants hacked her on the head thereby killing her instantly.
Ms. Bakari was touted for being on the forefront of encouraging the youth in the area to avoid drug use and live with each other in harmony.
She was also the area assistant administrator and the leader of a youth movement in Mbwajumwale.
