Raila slams DP Ruto for blaming Jubilees performance on the handshake

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto for blaming the handshake for failures of the Jubilee government.

According to Raila, Ruto is part of the making of the mess in the country and hence should take responsibility.

Speaking in Mombasa while meeting Muslim professionals and scholars on Sunday, Raila said the BBI process will provide solutions to many national problems

“Raila hajaingia katika serikali…ako nje ya serikali…ile ambayo tumefanya mpaka leo ni kujaribu kutekeleza yale tulikubaliana na Uhuru,” said to former Prime Minister.

“Lakini yule ambaye amekuwa naibu wake kwa miaka nane anaanza kuruka…anasema yeye si responsible….analaumu mambo ya BBI…na anakula mshahara, ako na security…alafu anaanza kudhulumu hiyo serikali anasema Raila ndio ako responsible.”

Raila defended the BBI report saying it is necessary for it to be passed and implemented before the 2022 General Elections lest the country experiences similar past problems.

He also urged the Coast to support the document saying it addresses past perceived historical injustices in the region.
