Quack ‘doctor’ Mugo wa Wairimu detained for 14 days

Quack ‘doctor’ Mugo Wa Wairimu will be detained for 14 days as police conclude investigations into allegations that he drugged and raped his patients, a Nairobo Magistrate’s Court has ruled.

Senior Principal Magistrate Charity Oluoch has, however, advised police to apply for more days should they fail to complete investigations when the 14 days elapse.

The prosecution had requested for 30 days to extract the alleged doctor’s mobile phone records, reports from the Communications Authority, Cyber Crime Unit, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board as well as to protect him from the wrath of the public.

Mugo’s lawyer did not object to the detention and the alleged rapist doctor is now expected back in court on September 25th 2015.

Mugo was arrested Thursday at a hotel in Limuru following a tip off from a member of the public.

Police had launched a manhunt for the fake doctor after Citizen TV exposed his alleged sexual acts at his clinics in Githurai and Zimmerman.
