President Uhuru Appoints Maj. Gen. Kameru as the New NIS Boss

President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated the director of military intelligence, Major General Phillip Kameru as the new Director General of the National Intelligence Service. Major General Kameru, who replaces Retired Major General Michael Gichangi at the helm of the service, will now be vetted by parliament through the defence and foreign relations committee.  But as Jacky Maribe reports, this nomination from the military may yet again stir disquiet among long serving senior officers in the spy agency who may have expected one of their own to be at the helm of NIS.
