Police rescue Form One girl abducted by boda boda operator

Police in Kirinyaga County are presently in pursuit of a boda boda operator said to have abducted a Form One girl.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Gichugu OCPD Anthony Mbogo said the 24-year-old man kidnapped the girl while she was on midterm break and planned on forcing her into marriage.

Mr. Mbogo said, following investigations, police officers stormed the suspect’s house on Saturday and rescued the girl but he (suspect) managed to escape.

The girl, who was later reunited with her family, told police she knew her abductor while he was a casual labourer in Nyeri.

“We are still looking for the boda boda operator and soon he will be arrested and prosecuted,” said the police boss.
