Police in Lodwar Arrest Suspected Terrorist

Turkana County directorate of criminal investigations officer, Moses Cheruiyot, said the suspect, Evans Kipkosgei, Alias Osman, was arrested following a tip-off from the administration of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Lodwar.

The suspect is said to have been speaking to a student near the college who later revealed the suspect was inquiring on the number of Muslim students present at the institution, a question that raised concerns.

According to the suspect, he wanted the information with regard for the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan.

The college principal Rachel Lomechu reported the matter to police leading to the man’s arrest.

The suspect, according to Cheruiyot, hails from Kaisagat Village in Transnzoia County.

The DCI officer added Osman was also not a registered Kenyan and has no national ID.

Four police officers have been deployed, to guard the institution.
