Pastor arrested after defiling minor

A senior pastor at Jerusalem Church in Zangwani village, Voi Sub-County in Taita Taveta County has been arrested over allegedly defiling a minor.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the girl’s family said she admitted to spending the night at the pastor’s house on Saturday, leading to an early morning confrontation by villagers on Sunday.

An eyewitness intimated that the girl was still inside the suspect’s house by the time the villagers cornered the suspect at his house.

The irate villagers nabbed the pastor in his house as he prepared to go to a church service and handed him to police.

The residents claimed that the suspect had been involved in a similar incident before, and despite reporting the matter to police, the pastor still walked free as no action was taken against him.

Last month, police in Naivasha arrested a cleric, 45, for allegedly abusing his daughter sexually over a period of two years.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday July 30^th after the minor told her teachers of the happenings at home.
