Newly-launched Democratic Action Party to back Raila in 2022 polls
Leaders allied to the newly formed Democratic
Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) held a series of popularisation rallies in
Bungoma County on Thursday.
The leaders lashed out at Ford Kenya party
leader Moses Wetangula for failing to unite the Luhya nation.
DAP-K party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi and
Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa rallied their supporters to throw
their weight behind Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga
and his Azimio la Umoja movement.
Wamalwa took a swipe at leaders opposed to his
involvement in politics as a Cabinet Secretary.
“Tumekuwa kwa hiyo safari pamoja, tukafika
mahali kwa sababu ya mahakama na ukora; dishonesty of the highest order. Nyinyi
wenyewe mkauliza lazima tufanye uamuzi, tulifanya makosa kweli?” Posed
Wamunyinyi, who is also the Kanduyi Member of Parliament.
“Tarehe 14 tukazindua hii chama iliyokuwa registered
mwezi wa tano mwaka huu na vijana wetu hapa nyumbani, huyu ndugu yetu Eugene
Wamalwa akiwa pia nyuma.”
CS Wamalwa, on his part, stated: “Leo nataka
niseme kwa wale wanaosema ati Wamalwa anafanya siasa, I’m a political appointee
wa Uhuru Kenyatta. Na kama rais ameona njia njema ni kujenga daraja ili nchi
itulie, ni jukumu langu mimi nije hapa nyumbani tujenge hizo daraja.”
