NCIC Vice Chairperson Fatuma Tabwara collapses and dies

Fatuma Tabwara collapsed and died while attending a wedding at Kombani, Kwale County.

She was the Vice Chairperson of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).

She had only been appointed to the position on November 20 this year.

She was waiting to receive the bride and show her where the groom (her nephew) was waiting.

According to Nominated MCA Hanifa Mwajirani, Tabwara was pronounced dead on arrival at Diani Beach Hospital.

Before President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed her as National Vice chairperson for NCIC, Tabwara served as a political advisor to Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya.

Tabwara unsuccessfully vied for the Kwale Women Rep seat under the PDR party.

A spot check on the NCIC website reveals that she once also served as Chairperson of the County Public Service Board and participated in the formation of sexual harassment policy in the Kwale County Government.

She was also the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Mwanambeyu Girls Secondary School.

Tabwara is set to be buried later on Sunday as per the Islamic tradition.
