NASA in major Coast, Ukambani vote-hunt
The opposition, National Super Alliance (NASA), on Tuesday, May 7 unveiled a 15-member team that will spearhead its flag bearer – Raila Odinga’s presidential campaigns, in their quest to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 General Election.
The former Premier’s campaigns will be led by Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, chairperson of the team, who will be deputized by two vice-chairpersons, Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama and ODM’s Secretary for Internal Affairs, Olga Karani.
Others in the campaign team include members of the steering committee that was tasked by the opposition alliance to choose its presidential candidate among co-principals Raila Odinga, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.
The campaign team includes Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Siaya Senator, James Orengo, ODM Secretary General, Agnes Zani, Suna East MP, Junet Mohammed, Kitutu Masaba MP, Timothy Bosire, Kajiado Central MP, Kanchory Memusi, Senior Counsel Nzamba Kitonga, MS. Cynthia Mutere, Mr. Brown Makotsi, Mr. Tirop Kosgey and Mr. David Kipyegon Sang’.
The team will be tasked to lead the campaigns immediately as NASA is expected to woo Coastal region residents.
Today (June 8, 2017), NASA’s first team – led by Raila Odinga – is expected to tour Garsen, Witu, Lamu with the second team, to be led by either by running mate Kalonzo Musyoka or Musalia Mudavadi expected to tour Kaloleni, Rabai and Mariakani areas.
On Friday, June 9, the opposition will be looking to further cover its perceived stronghold of Taita Taveta County with its different teams touring Mwatate, Wundanyi, Voi and Taveta areas before both teams convene in Mombasa later in the day.
On Saturday, June 10, the opposition, as a whole, will camp in Mtito, Kambu, Kibwezi and Wote in Ukambani Region.
