Mt. Kenya will not endorse you in 2022 – MP tells DP Ruto

Suna East Member of Parliament, Junet Mohamed, has told-off Deputy President William Ruto for what he terms as “riding on a false hope that he (Ruto) will be endorsed by Jubilee Party as its presidential candidate in the 2022 State House race”.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto had an agreement in 2013 General Election that the latter supports Mr. Kenyatta for two five-year terms and then the President returns the favor and rally support for Mr. Ruto in 2022.

The ODM Party Director of Elections, who was speaking during a NASA campaign rally in Kericho on Wednesday, July 5, now says that Ruto’s current aggressive campaigns for Jubilee is because he is banking on the support of Mt. Kenya region in 2022, not knowing that five years is a very long period in politics for a total overhaul to occur and possibly another popular candidate emerges.

“In August, Kenyans will be voting for either President Kenyatta or Raila Odinga and not William Ruto. You son, Mr. Ruto, is campaigning furiously for President Kenyatta, yet he is not sure that he will be supported in 2022 like he has done. Somebody who is even more popular that Uhuru can surface and convince the Mt. Kenya region,” said Junet.

Junet called upon the residents of Kericho to vote for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga as his government will be an all inclusive one that does not sideline any community.

“Just look at me, I am the MP of Suna in Migori but my home is in Mandera. Kenyans are tired of tribalism. We want a Luo to be an MP in Chepalungu, Bomet County and the vice versa,” added Junet.
