MPs Vet Former Politicians

Members of Parliament on Tuesday took to task two former cabinet ministers over their age and political affiliations during the ongoing vetting of diplomats. The Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations grilled former minister Professor Sam Ongeri and Chirau Ali Mwakwere over their suitability for the diplomatic postings. The session also offered President Kenyatta’s nominee for Kenyan ambassador to the United States Robinson Njeru Githae an opportunity to outline some of his priority areas should he be appointed to the powerful position.
